This painting was the first of Jeanne's Sister Series depicting relationships between Native and African women. Along the Trail of Tears, stations in life were unimportant . . . forgotten. People united for survival. The only thing these two women see or feel is another woman in the midst of a shared tragedy and facing an equally unknown future. They have joined hands . . . united by the need for support and for the need to give support. . . they are not alone. They are Sisters through this Journey.
The 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 square art tiles with custom easel backs attached, also have hinged hangers - ready to set on a shelf or hang in a grouping.
